ABOUT US
Coach Tam is an Edmond, OK native. She graduated from Oklahoma Christian School and went on to obtain her degree in nursing from the University of Oklahoma. She worked at Mercy Hospital in the area of labor and delivery unit until she became a full-time mom to her five kids. Looking for additional ways to make an impact, Tam found herself coaching tennis and completing her USPTA certification to become a top tennis pro at ECC. In addition to coaching, she gives back to the game by volunteering as a board member for the Play it Forward tennis foundation. She continued to grow in the tennis world by serving as a committee member for the USTA MO Valley Board and medical training at National tournaments hosted by Edmond Center Court. Always looking for ways to help and improve others, Coach Tam found herself at a crossroads when she started assisting with a local 6A girl’s tennis team. The girls knew how to play well but they were not trained in WHAT to think while competing. With the inability to know how to handle obstacles, adversity, or losses - they crumbled under pressure. They hadn’t been taught HOW to be mentally strong. Coach Tam saw a need for training on the mental side of the game and decided to take action. That is when Peak Focus Training was created. Coach Tam's heart is to teach athletes their value while giving them the tools to be resilient, to perform and succeed under pressure. Her goal is to teach them to believe in themselves…not only on the field/court but more importantly in life! |
